We just do the "leave your shoe out for a treat" on St. Nicholas Day (the shoes are placed near their bedroom doors, the night before). Sometimes it is a small gift; rumor has it this year that it's going to be candy. Even for the grownups, since Little Brother noticed last year that St. Nick only visited the kids, and he was bothered by that. :) Even the Big Kids enjoy this little tradition.

Christmas Novena

  • Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen
