A Merry Hallow's Eve

   A gentle breeze rustling the dry cornstalks.
A sound is heard, a goblin walks.
A harvest moon suffers a black cat's cry.
Oh' do the witches fly!
Bonfire catches a pumpkins gleem.
Rejoice, it's Halloween!

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and may the perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.

May their souls and all the souls of the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

The cost of freedom is high so please never forget to thank those who sacrifice so much to provide us with our freedom. Those who serve and their families give much, receive little and save us from the sins of those who would destroy us. It sounds like God's work to me.

Happy New Year

We've had an incredibly busy few days here at the Bonny Blue House. Thank you so smuch to all of you who emailed me and wished me a Happy New Year.  It was such a fun time here, we hosted a New Year's gathering with a few close friends.  It was rather small this year, a few families couldn't make it, and a few of the older children made their own plans. Only sixteen children.  From three families.  Very tiny for a Bonny Blue House gathering. 

Of course I spent more time eating and making merry than taking pictures.  Suffice to say a good time was had by all and I won't need to cook again for several days, we can exist quite happily on leftovers.  We had a chocolate fountain, the children were wild for this, and many libations.  I made chocolate martinis for the ladies (yum!) and we all rang in the new year with champagne (ginger ale for the under 21 set), noise makers and sparklers.

These pictures are blurry die to a previously undetected smudge on the camera lense. I think the effect is kinds cool!

We had a fire going in the outdoor fireplace. It was unseasonably warm so the kids played outdoors most of the evening.

Merry Christmas

I have been out of touch for a while due to a virulent stomach virus that has had the Bonny Blue House in it's grips.  It's been a rough two weeks.

I am planning to back post what little we have been doing next week when I dig out my camera and gather my thoughts. 

In the meantime I wanted to wish all of you dear readers a very Merry Christmas. May your day be filled with joy and blessed with love.

Veteran's Day

Were it now for their sacrifice we would not live in the blessed freedom that we so often take for granted.  Pray for those who gave their lives, that they rest in the arms of Our Lord.

Pray for those who served and now live among us, living memorials to honor, bravery and service.

Pray for those now fighting for freedom, may God protect them and bring them home safely.

Thank you men and women of the United States Armed Forces. For you all, I am truly grateful.
