Loveliness of Christmas

Loveliness_logo_2 The last Loveliness Fair of 2006!  Yes, I know it is 2007 but we wanted to give everyone a chance to share their lovely Christmas celebration with us all.

When I was first asked to host this fair here at O Night Divine the phrase Loveliness of Christmas conjured images of a very Martha Stewart-like day with perfectly wrapped presents under a perfectly decorated tree followed by some perfectly prepared meals and goodies.

Doesn't generally happen at The Bonny Blue House but this year we had many Christmas Blessings to be grateful for, two chubby, cute ones in particular.

A Make-Ahead Christmas is Marjorie's solution to this "perfection" problem.  She had a wonderful plan for a carefree Christmas by making most of her food ahead of time. It sounds so delicious.

Speaking of food, my dear friend Nissa hosted the first ever Christmas Cookie Swap at her lovely blog.  There are a lot of decadent recipes over there.  Go forth and print.....

Dawn is one of my favorite bloggers and her Christmas Tree post shows the many reasons why. She writes and lives with an appreciation for the loveliness in everyday things that I tuly aspire to. In her Christmas memories her love for her family and her joy in their presence warmed my heart.

Elizabeth had an especially meaningful Christmas this year. So many of last year's wishes came true and prayers answered. The Foss family shared a pictorial that captures the true beauty of the Christmas season. Her post begins with child and ends with a child just as our salvation does.

Christmas Around the World was the focus at Trinity Acres. I am sure that tradition will take hold forever in their family. Globally speaking there were several Merry Christmas' The Hunsucker's Home was merry and bright in Russia. If you have the time go through all of December at the Hunsucker's Phyllis did a beautiful job with her Advent preparation. And her children are adorable.

In Australia the Bruggeman family started their Christmas with Midnight Mass and even brought some friends to experience the beauty of our faith.

What would Christmas be without a reflection from our dear Alice. Her Epiphany post is a two hanky read. You must also try to incorporate Alice's Twelve Days of Christmas Tea into your celebration this week.

Margaret's list is so typical of her wonderful humor that gets to the heart of everything. It also proved once and for all I am not cool.  (Right, as if there was ever any doubt).

I love the The Tucker Bunch. I love the name, the blog, the mom, the cute kids and now I love this Holy Family Christmas tree tradition.

Now let's just peek into some beautiful Christmas days...

What an enjoyable way to spend my early morning coffee time! You did a great job, Mary Ellen. Thank you.

Oh, Mary Ellen. This fair is absolutely wonderful. You did a great job! Thank you for including us in your fair and for the lovely comment. We love you too. You are a blessing to all of us. Merry Christmas.

It's a beautiful fair Mary Ellen, thanks so much for hosting it and including me!! Happy New Year to all at O Night Divine!! Blessings!

Thank you! I felt rude leaving my first comment so abruptly, but I didn't have time for more then. I was just getting acquainted with your blog, and I saw the deadline for the fair. Now I've had more time to look around, and I love what you have here! Thanks again!

Christmas Countdown

Christmas Novena

  • Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen
